The 1970 movie, The Cross and the Switchblade, is the true story of Nicky Cruz, a murderous gang warlord of New York’s most notorious gang, the Mau Maus in 1958. Newspaper articles described the Mau Maus as a gang beyond hope, beyond redemption that all feared and hoped would die. The Mau Maus were a feared modern day Ninevah to whom the prophet Jonah also called to repentance. The results were nothing but miraculous.
